Featuring everything from tiny air plants and fragrant roses to tall, columnar delphinium and massive trees, this year’s Gig Harbor Garden Tour was positively bursting with blooms, buds, and boles. Even the weather cooperated, with just a little rain early on Saturday, June 27, and a cool-but-sunny afternoon.

This year’s tour featured six gardens. They included an Olalla garden that was last included on the tour seven years ago, and another that had an old orchard and an ancient tree surrounded by both ornamental and edible plants.

Proceeds from the tour go towards supporting literacy. Last year, the tour raised more than $35,000, which organizers distributed amongst 17 local organizations and schools.

The tour continued from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 28.
